NAT JONES OMENS: A SERIES OF GOTHIC PAINTINGS

NAT JONES
OMENS: SOLO ART SHOW

A SERIES OF GOTHIC PAINTINGS

Nat Jones OMENS: A Series of Gothic Paintings

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — December 8, 2016.

Burlington, ON — On January 7 2017, The Tell Tale Heart Tattoo & Gallery is proud to present the Nat Jones solo art show OMENS — his premiere series of gothic paintings. Jones is most well known for his stunning illustration work in comics and film alongside genre heavy hitters such as Steve Niles (30 Days of Night) and Rob Zombie (Halloween). OMENS is his first collection of original large scale paintings and features images inspired by Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, the television series Penny Dreadful, as well as the first-ever painting of his popular bat-cat design.

“I have always felt at home with dark imagery,” says Jones about the collection. “There is something in the shadows, lurking just beyond what can be seen that I find very inviting. My work is an invitation to the viewer to explore those dark recesses together.”

The OMENS opening reception will take place on January 7, 2017 at 7PM. Featuring: A visit from Krampus himself (it is Orthodox Christmas, after all) and free fortune telling by oracle/mystic Madame Theadora! This is a catered and licensed event, 18+ only. We will be staying open late and would love to see all of our regular clients at the party. Members of the press are welcome to attend. OMENS will run through February 7, 2017. Gallery Hours: Monday-Saturday, 12-6pm. More images available upon request.

Burlington, ON — On March 12th 2016, The Tell Tale Heart Tattoo & Gallery will celebrate its grand opening at 496 Brant Street in downtown Burlington, Ontario with a celebrity roster of international artists from the worlds of fine art, film and comics. The Tell Tale Heart Inaugural Group Art Show will proudly premiere a series of original oil paintings by legendary author, painter and filmmaker Clive Barker (Hellraiser, Nightbreed) based on “The Midnight Meat Train,” one of Barker’s most popular stories from the award-winning Books of Blood anthology.

Joining Barker for the group show are high-profile international artists Travis Louie, Chet Zar, Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, illustrators Daniele Serra and Nat Jones, as well as hand-picked complementary Canadian artists — who are all creating exclusive original works inspired by the Edgar Allan Poe story “The Tell-Tale Heart” for the show.

“We are immensely proud to be able to bring such high calibre artists to Canada for our inaugural art show,” says owner and curator Jovanka Vuckovic. “This is the first time Clive Barker has ever exhibited a series from the Books of Blood anywhere in our country.
