CLIVE BARKER GRAND OPENING SHOW

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — February 22, 2016.

Burlington, ON — On March 12th 2016, The Tell Tale Heart Tattoo & Gallery will celebrate its grand opening at 496 Brant Street in downtown Burlington, Ontario with a celebrity roster of international artists from the worlds of fine art, film and comics. The Tell Tale Heart Inaugural Group Art Show will proudly premiere a series of original oil paintings by legendary author, painter and filmmaker Clive Barker (Hellraiser, Nightbreed) based on “The Midnight Meat Train,” one of Barker’s most popular stories from the award-winning Books of Blood anthology.

Joining Barker for the group show are high-profile international artists Travis Louie, Chet Zar, Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, illustrators Daniele Serra and Nat Jones, as well as hand-picked complementary Canadian artists — who are all creating exclusive original works inspired by the Edgar Allan Poe story “The Tell-Tale Heart” for the show.

“We are immensely proud to be able to bring such high calibre artists to Canada for our inaugural art show,” says owner and curator Jovanka Vuckovic. “This is the first time Clive Barker has ever exhibited a series from the Books of Blood anywhere in our country. He rarely parts with his art, and we are honoured Clive has chosen us to present his works in person, and at totally accessible price points for fans and collectors.”

The Tell Tale Heart Tattoo & Gallery is a one-of-a-kind custom tattoo studio and fine art gallery located on historic Brant Street in downtown Burlington, Ontario, just a few steps from City Hall. The stunning new shop takes its name from the famous Edgar Allan Poe story, and is the brainchild of veteran tattoo artist Shane Faulkner and filmmaker Jovanka Vuckovic, who has been developing a feature film adaptation of Barker’s “Jacqueline Ess: Her Last Will and Testament,” also from the Books of Blood.

The opening reception will take place on March 12, 2016 from 6-9pm with catering by celebrity top chef Scott Bailey of Compass Restaurant. Members of the press are welcome to attend. This is a licensed event, 19+ only. The Tell Tale Heart Inaugural Group Art Show will run through September 12, 2016. Gallery Hours: Monday-Saturday, 12-6pm. More images available upon request.
